The aim of the course is to teach PhD students with the basic principles and practical techniques in developing scientific articles for internationally indexed journals. The course is conducted in two thematic modules with a total of 30 hours of lectures and exercises.

Basics of the publication process
The first module “Basics of the publication process” treats the main principles of the world’s system of publishing and indexing: the need of publication process, types of articles and their features, scientific journals, reviewing and editing, key indicators of measuring scientific achievements (scientometrics).2
Components of the research paper
The second module “Components of the research paper”, examines the structure, purposes and content of the IMRAD sections. This module provides detailed practical guidance on how to write each section of the paper. Students learn skills to develop their own paper through individual work and in-class exercises.
