I am Hristina.

A dreamer, seeking to bring about transformative change in Bulgarian science.

I do research, journal development, education, and networking all around the World. Art, design, scholarly writing, publication, and social communication of science take a huge amount of my work. “Prodanova: Research and Creativity” is my personal corner on the internet where I present all the stuff I like to do.

My educational background comes from

Illustration and Book design, Sec.Ed.

I got professional secondary education in Fine Arts in 2008, so I have specific knowledge on Typography, Color Theory, Composition, and related once as Modelling and Construction, Photography, History of Art and Architecture, Applied Arts and Design, Drawing, and Painting.

History and Geography, B.Ed.

Years later, back in 2012, I graduated with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in History and Geography from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and St. Methodius”.

Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology, M.Sc.

In 2016 I graduated as a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Physical Geography and Landscape Science, Ph.D.

Finally, I got my Doctoral degree in Physical Geography and Landscape Science in 2022.

My professional background

Previously

Previously occupied working positions as a photo editor (6 mos), office assistant (4 yrs), and school teacher (3 yrs).

Currently

I am currently being affiliated as an assistant professor in “Cartography and GIS” at the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIGGG-BAS), Sofia, Bulgaria. My research interests are mainly in the fields of ecosystem services assessments and mapping, karst and biogeographical studies (such as destruction and pollution of karst territories, distribution of invasive alien species), modeling and monitoring of natural processes and human impact activities, remote sensing and GIS. I participated in various European and Bulgarian national projects.
